"PUBLIC SPACE"

About

Public Space is a platform game for PC and mobile about street harrasement.
The player is a woman that wants to live her everyday life but is constantly catcalled
by men in the street. This project intends to rise awareness about street harrasment
in our society.

    Where everything started!

    Public Space began as José Pedro Gioscia´s undergraduate thesis at ORT University Uruguay

  • NOVEMBER 2015

    Organizations began recognizing us

    Observatorio Contra el Acoso Callejero of Uruguay and Latin America (OCAC Latinoamerica) started playing and supporting Public Space

  • NOVEMBER 2015

    Our first award!

    We won the 1st place award in the "National Videogames Contest of Uruguay" in the education and social inclusion category, organized by Antel, ORT, Ingenio

  • JUNE 2016

    Global validation

    The organization Stop Street Harassment (USA) which wrote many of the books that helped us create this game, supported Public Space

  • NOVEMBER 2016

    Regional Award

    We also won a regional contest for social impact ideas called “Comprometidos” hosted by Socialab, Koga, Ashoka and UNESCO
